Pieter de Smidt, PT, DPT, cert MDT, MTC

Dr. de Smidt has been a Physical Therapist for 35 years. He specializes in treatment of patients with spine pain and sports injuries. By combining hands-on treatment and exercise therapy his patients quickly recover and resume their daily lives without pain.

Pieter has extensive experience in treating Crossfit Athletes and other weightlifting athletes. He enjoys helping patients with their fitness and wellness goals.

Pieter de Smidt, PT, DPT, MDT, MTC, is the Physical Therapy Manager at Premier Performance Physical Therapy, which offers comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation to people in Katy, Pearland, Sugar Land, Texas, and throughout Fort Bend County.

Dr. de Smidt was born and raised in the Netherlands. He received his Physical Training before he became a Physical Therapist in the Army. He moved to the United States in 1991.

Dr. de Smidt has been working as a Physical Therapist in management positions for the past 20 years and also has owned his own Physical Therapy clinics.

Dr. Smidt completed his Doctorate training with a specialization in the treatment of Musculoskeletal Conditions in 2014. He has achieved certification in Manual Therapy, McKenzie MDT, and Sports Physical Therapy. He has also been trained in Kinesiology Taping, Dry Needling, Cupping, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).

Dr. de Smidt has been teaching Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Massage Therapists all over the nation for the past 10- years.

At Premier Performance Physical Therapy, Pieter diagnoses and treats various musculoskeletal problems, but he has a special interest in treating injuries to the spine, and sports injuries.
